Balance Enquiry Methods

• USSD Balance Enquiry

Check your Balance: Key in *144#, press the call button and your balance will automatically appear on screen.

• IVR Balance Enquiry

• Dial 144 from your mobile phone.
• Listen to the voice prompt informing you of your balance and validity.

The Service is charged at 10/= per call. 

• SMS Balance Enquiry

To check your balance via SMS:

• Go to Messages and create a "New Message"
• Type the word "balance"
• Send to 144.
• Await response from Safaricom confirming your balance and validity period where applicable.

This service is free.

• Voicemail is offered to all Safaricom customers for FREE.
• Voicemail allows for calls to be diverted directly to your Safaricom mailbox.
  

To Activate Your Voicemail:

When you are unable to answer the call,

• Key in **61*0722122#, and then press OK.
  
  

To de-activate this divert

• Key in # # 61#, and then press OK.

When your phone is out of coverage or switched off:

• Key in **62*0722122#, and then press OK.
  

To de-activate this divert

• Key in ##62#, and then press OK.

When your line is busy and are unable to take the call:

• Key in **67*0722122#, and then press OK.
  

To de-activate this divert

• Key in ##67#, and then press OK.

How to Retrieve Your Voicemail

• To retrieve messages from your voicemail, simply dial 111.
• When you call 111, the default PIN number is 1234.
